When the world slowed down during the global pandemic, I had moments where I gasped at the beauty of our planet Mother Earth, not taking a bit of her for granted. I brainstormed GreenbyGranas in the summer of 2020 by combining my passion for combating the challenges the natural world faces and philosophy of less stuff, more meaning with my love for events.

Events involve overconsumption and creation of waste. At the end of a long day who has time and energy to comb through the waste and create recycle, re-use, donate and compost piles? Most event teams are sending garbage bags filled with unnecessary trash to already overflowing landfills. But there are actionable steps we can take to both eliminate waste where possible and dispose of it properly. An eco-friendly event does not mean less beautiful, impactful or short of economic benefit. It means we are more thoughtful and deliberate in our approach. Events are highly visible and therefore provide an opportunity to influence change.

With a passion to campaign for the protection of our environment, I set out to educate myself on green initiatives in the languages that I speak: events, fashion, and beauty. My goal with this online resource is to promote an eco friendly lifestyle, encourage green event planning initiatives and walk the talk in my event planning projects.
